1. Water-Resistance

If you go with glazed ceramic tiles they will have a top coating that makes it resistant to water. This means they will be able to withstand even the largest of spills.

You'll be able to put the tile in your bathroom because it won't crack or chip due to water. One thing you should know though, if you just get regular old ceramic tile, you'll need to put a sealant over it to get this effect.

2. It's Durable

Ceramic tile is very tough and isn't known to crack or break off easily. If you treat it right, the tile will last the entire time you're living in your home and then some.

If for some reason one of your tiles do crack, it's very simple to remove it and replace it with another one.

3. Easy to Maintain

Ceramic tile is very easy to clean. Due to the fact that it's water resistant, spills and dirt just rest on top of the tile's surface. This makes it easy to mop or sweep it away.

To maintain the floor, just go over it every once in a while with a vacuum with a soft brush attachment. If a stain manages to set in, you can use whatever chemicals necessary to clean it without having to worry about destroying it.

4. It's Hard

Now that you know about the advantages, it's time to go over the disadvantages. The trade-off for it being easy to clean is that it's a very hard material. It can be really uncomfortable to stand on.

If you're planning to stand on it for a long period of time to cook, things could get a little painful. You can fix this issue with floor mats though.

5. Installation

Installing ceramic tile involves you having to put a layer of cement down before you place it. This means that it isn't easy for an amateur to come in and do it. You won't be able to DIY it unless you're experienced.

Unfortunately, since you would have to have a professional team come in and put the tile down, you'll have to pay a nice price for them to do it.
