Having new flooring installed in your home doesn't have to be stressful, and it won't be if you know what to expect when our team arrives with your new flooring. Read through these helpful tips that our team at Unique Flooring Solutions has compiled before calling (502) 409-8760 for an appointment.
Put away all your furnishings
Make sure you clear out the area where the work is to be done. Even though much care is taken, we cannot be responsible for the items that could get damaged. All appliances, furniture, window treatments, wall hangings, paintings, and other decorative items should be removed and kept aside to avoid any damage when the wood and equipment are being moved in and out of the area.
Get professional help to disconnect gas and water lines before work, and to reconnect them once the work is done. Make sure appliances such as stoves, dishwashers, or refrigerators are disconnected and out of our way. This will minimize the potential risk to you, your family, and our employees.
Keep the work area clean
Keep the work area clean by sweeping the floors or sub floors and removing the debris. It is ideal to do it at regular intervals to help with the ongoing work. By doing it yourself, you can minimize or eliminate any additional charges you might incur for routine prep.
Temperature control
It is important to maintain normal living conditions in your building. Make sure your HVAC (heating, ventilation, and AC) systems are operational. Make sure the painting, grouting and other works are completed with all windows and doors in place.
Know the basics
Get to know the process of installing wood floorings for a better understanding. Ask all your doubts from estimated timeline (and how it is only an “estimate”) to the direction in which the floorboard will be installed. Understand that wood is a natural product and floorboards will vary in appearance. It is normal and will only add to the beauty and charm of real wood floors.
